Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindful Movement and the Feldenkrais Method® with Donna Ray, M.A.,M.F.T., Feldenkrais® Trainer April 21, 2012
We will be studying current Science and Research related to FI and ATM. In addition, we will be using qualitative research to write case studies. Each day will include discussion, ATM, and FI to deepen our understanding and application of the Feldenkrais Method. FI will include sitting, standing, and walking. Self Use and Precision will be improved. The Integration of Function, Brain, Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, and Societal will be discussed.

Seminar Emphasis: The Intentional Movement of the Student during FI
 “Moshe would frequently, especially in the late years of his FI/Hands On practice, have his students participate in all sorts of directed movements. There was no barrier between FI and ATM. We will follow the same blending process in this advanced training. Workshop participants will share ideas, hands on ‘techniques’ and verbal directions from our vast communal knowledge of ATM lessons to create FI lessons that will attempt to meet an individual needs, their level of acceptance, and what they will use from the lesson, at this particular moment in time. “Parts’ of ATM’s or ‘positions’ or theoretical considerations will be blended to create FI lessons.” ~ Jerry Karzen

Jerry is a graduate of the 1977 San Francisco Training with Dr. Feldenkrais. Jerry studied with Dr. Feldenkrais at the Feldenkrais Institute in Tel-Aviv. When they lived together between 1976 and 1984, Jerry was Moshe Feldenkrais' personal traveling companion, secretary and close friend. He assisted in the editing of Dr. Feldenkrais' last two books and directed, or himself videotaped, 95% of all existing tapes of Dr. Feldenkrais' private Functional Integration® lessons. At the request of Dr. Feldenkrais, Jerry organized and administered his last training program and was the first Executive Director of the Feldenkrais Foundation. He has also served as President of the North American Feldenkrais Guild®.
